Artist Mirana Zuger, Sivarulrasa Gallery

Born in Canada, Mirana Zuger is a multi-disciplinary artist working in painting, sculpture and performance. She holds an MFA from Queens College, City University of New York and is a graduate of Concordia University, Montreal (Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction). She has also completed artist residencies in France and Croatia. Her performance work was recently featured in a collaborative community project hosted by the Brooklyn Museum, New York. She also performed in The Precarious Workers Pageant in conjunction with the 56th Annual International Exhibition: All the World’s Futures at the Venice Biennale in Venice, Italy in August of 2015.

Mirana Zuger’s paintings have been exhibited widely including solo exhibitions in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Paris, New York, and Zagreb. Working with oils and selected media, her paintings burst with vitality, energy, and luscious colour. Over more than a decade of prolific painting, she continues to develop a distinctive personal iconography of non-objective marks afloat in lateral fields of exuberant colour. The works are passionate, dynamic, and compelling: “Creating from my core is my way of navigating the realities of our world,” she states. Zuger’s paintings are held in many public and private collections in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.

Mirana Zuger’s work was featured in a solo show FUEGO, jointly presented by Sivarulrasa Gallery and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia from Oct 23 to Nov 17, 2017.
