Based in Montérégie, Quebec, Lise Leroux earned her Bachelor of Fine Art degree at the Université du Québec à Montreal. She has spent the last 10 years experimenting and developing her own techniques, perfecting her skills in painting, collage, printmaking, and drawing.

Born in a farming environment, she is inspired by the land, forests, and by her extended family background. “I am very much attached to the land,” she says. “My art is about seeing it with my own eyes.” Working between abstraction and figuration, her practice is introspective and intuitive. Her poetic compositions pay tribute to her deep appreciation of the land, deconstructing and reconstructing her environment through a highly personal lens.

Lise Leroux’s works have been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions, as well as solo shows in Montreal. She was twice awarded the Prix d’excellence by the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Mont-Saint-Hilaire (2022 and 2021). Her works are held in private collections in Canada and Europe.
