Liz Jackson, Sivarulrasa GalleryBorn in Regina, Saskatchewan and now based in Ompah, Ontario, Liz Jackson’s work is rooted in the natural environment. Her interest is in creating abstract works inspired by her geography on the Canadian Shield, where ancient rock, trees, and water breathe life into her work. “My practice is an intuitive journey where the initial chaos of gestural mark-making gives way to abstract compositions reflecting the power of the land”, she says.

Working with layers of acrylic, oil, cold wax, and other media, her approach to composition is guided by both observation and intuition. The resulting works occupy a space at the boundary of representation, inviting the viewer to consider landscape through a contemporary lens. Through abstraction, she aims to distill the energy of the natural world into a visual language that is both personal and universal. Her works have been exhibited in Ontario and are held in private collections in Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands.
